The wide-band distribution amplifier with RDS or SCA services summing control.
KOALA is a very versatile equipment, that can work both as MPX distributor and MPX splitter, the policy commutation can be managed as well.
KOALA is composed of two sections and for each section a double MPX-RDS input is available. It can be distributed, split locally or buffered output (sections MPX-1, MPX-2, MPX-3 and MPX-4).
There's no jumper settings inside Koala - the wide front panel input/output range allows the user to set any kind of commutation policy, distribution, Mpx re-run and Mpx split.
The commutation command can be managed by GPo command via optocoupler port installed in KOALA's rear panel.
KOALA has 4 input sections serving for the connection to the main signal as test and to be distributed.
One output is buffered, with level adjustment via trimmer, while the second output is not buffered and therefore passive, useful to directly control the injected signal at the input.
In addition, the buffered output is equipped with a bypass circuit Hardware essential in case of power failure.
The wide bandwidth of the inputs and outputs (100kHz) allows KOALA to distribute/split the MPX signals with or without RDS or SCA signals. In the event of power failure, a relay connects directly to the AUX 2 and AUX 3 respectively to the input signals and MPX1/MPX2 (hardware bypass). The presence of a power supply transformer-based directly integrated in KOALA, further simplifies the installation.
